GICC, GUTA Explore Partnership to Boost Ghana–India Trade
The leadership of the Ghana India Chamber of Commerce (GICC), led by its Chairman, David Brian Obro, has held a strategic meeting with executives of the Ghana Union of Traders' Associations (GUTA) to explore avenues for collaboration aimed at strengthening trade between Ghana and India.
The meeting focused on building a strong partnership between the two institutions, particularly in advocating for reduced tariffs on key commodities to enhance trade competitiveness. Both parties discussed the need for policy support to ease the cost of doing business, especially in sectors such as cocoa products, textiles, and electrical goods.Leaders from both GICC and GUTA emphasized the importance of joint advocacy and stakeholder engagement to influence favorable trade policies that will benefit traders, manufacturers, and investors in both countries.
The engagement also highlighted the potential for increased market access and bilateral trade expansion, as well as the need to create a more enabling environment for businesses operating within the Ghana–India trade corridor. The meeting marks a significant step toward fostering stronger cooperation between the two organizations in promoting sustainable trade and economic growth.
