Ghana India Chamber of Commerce Pays Courtesy Call on New Indian High Commissioner to Ghana Accra, Ghana

A high-level delegation of the Ghana India Chamber of Commerce (GICC), led by its Chairman, Mr. David Brian Obro, on Monday, 13th July 2026, paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed High Commissioner of India to Ghana, His Excellency Shri Surinder Bhagat, at the Indian High Commission in Accra.

The visit was undertaken to formally congratulate His Excellency Shri Surinder Bhagat on his appointment, officially welcome him to Ghana, and reaffirm the Chamber's commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with the Indian High Commission. During the meeting, the delegation discussed practical ways of deepening collaboration between the Ghana India Chamber of Commerce and the Indian High Commission, particularly in the areas of trade promotion, investment facilitation, business networking, and economic diplomacy.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral commercial relations and creating more opportunities for businesses in both Ghana and India. Chairman of the Chamber, Mr. David Brian Obro, reiterated the Chamber's dedication to serving as a bridge between the business communities of Ghana and India by facilitating strategic partnerships, trade missions, investment opportunities, and policy advocacy that will benefit businesses in both countries.

His Excellency Shri Surinder Bhagat expressed his appreciation to the Chamber for the warm welcome and thoughtful gesture. He commended the Ghana India Chamber of Commerce for its active role in advancing economic cooperation between the two nations and pledged the full support of the Indian High Commission in promoting trade, investment, and business-to-business relations in strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between Ghana and India.
